This session has passed.

This program features a hands-on philosophy and methodology of Lean process improvement. Going beyond the introductory phase, participants apply Lean techniques to an actual work process. At the conclusion of the class, teams will have documented the current landscape, completed data analysis, built out a recommended future state with an implementation plan, and will have presented their findings and recommendations to their sponsor(s).

The class is a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on project work.

There are two ways to attend:
1. Attend as part of a group by bringing an actual project to class (each team member must register under their project name)
2. Individually as Fresh Eyes you will be assigned to a project

Group Projects: It is recommended but not required that departments enroll a group of four to seven members who share a common work process. Participants should consult with Dagmar Vlahos or Thomas Lencki Jr. of the USNH Enterprise Lean Team in advance of the class to discuss the project selected as well as meet with the manager who will sponsor the class project.

Individual Participation: Those registering without a workgroup will join a team from another department as Fresh Eyes for the hands-on portion of the program. Please note we limit the number of 'Fresh Eyes' depending on the number of projects for the class so register early.

All project teams will be assigned a trained facilitator to facilitate their project.

You must attend and participate in all 4.5 days to become a certified Lean Yellow Belt and you must be in attendance the entire class time.

This class is offered FREE to all USNH Faculty and Staff; however; please note that if you withdraw from the class within 10 days of the class start date or do not show up for the class your department may incur a charge of $400.00 to cover preparation work to create the teams along with preparation work for the program.

Please contact Dagmar Vlahos or Thomas Lencki Jr. of the USNH Enterprise Lean Team with any questions at dagmar.vlahos@unh.edu or thomas.lencki@unh.edu

Prerequisite: Introduction to LeanClass is capped at 4 projects so please ensure that you register early with your project. It is on a first-come, first-serve methodology so we will pick the first 4 projects with entire project teams registered. There is a cap of 8 fresh eyes per class.
